Puerto Vallarta saw Mexico’s first ‘Global Medical Tourism Congress and Expo’ open its doors to attendees yesterday, with the focus being on the safe, quality and affordable healthcare available in Mexico for foreign visitors wishing to combine a holiday whilst receiving medical treatment.

The Expo, organised by the Vallarta Medical Spa and Wellness Destination, is to promote Mexico is an attractive alternative medical setting for North American insurance companies by organization through the recently formed Mexican Health Travel Association (www.MexHTA.org).

“Our association is a platform for the health travel industry for all of Mexico,” the words of Carlos Arceo, the Expo CEO. Among the initial objectives of the MexHTA is fomenting strategic alliances between national and international hospitals and informing international organizations and US Insurers on health travel opportunities in Mexico.
